Our laboratory (Laboratory for DNA Data Analysis, Gojobori Lab.) is focused in the study of evolutionary mechanisms of different species by analyzing sequence data using both computational and wet-lab techniques. In particular, we are very much interested in evolutionary work.

Species of main interest are viruses, bacteria, planarian, hydra, octopus, primates, and human. We also conduct Data Analysis, Database Construction, Software Development, as well as Experimental Analysis.

We are pleased to know that AAAS (the mother association of SCIENCE magazine) decided to give the honor of FELLOW to Prof. Takashi Gojobori in February, 2006 in the United States.
We are very pleased to announce that Prof. Gojobori received the KIHARA prize of the Genetics Society of Japan in September, 2005.
It was actually followed by his receiving the KIMURA MOTO prize of the Japanese Society of Evolutionary Studies in August, 2004.
In the spring of the same year, Prof. Gojobori received the GOLD MEDAL from the Statione Zoologica Anton Dohn at Naples, Italy.

These achievements of Prof. Gojobori represent high activities of our research laboratory.
