Genes & Genetic Systems, formerly the Japanese Journal
of Genetics, is published bimonthly by the Genetics Society
of Japan. Genes & Genetic Systems covers a wide range
in the field of genetics: general genetics, molecular genet-ics,
cell genetics, developmental genetics, population ge-netics
and evolution, molecular evolution, and genome re-search.
Members of the society in particular are encourag-ed
to submit manuscripts, which should be in English, but
nonmembers are welcome to contribute as well.
1) Types of articles
(a) Original papers.
(b) Short communications, including gene mapping data.
(c) Reviews, including mini-review.
(d) Abstracts of papers presented at the annual meeting
of the Society.
(e) Book reviews.
2) Preparation of the manuscript
(a) The manuscript should be typewritten double spac-ed.
Sections should be arranged in the following

list, follow the following examples.
(g) Genus or species names, names of genes, mathemati-cal
formulae, and other terms requiring special
symbols should be appropriately indicated by the use of
italics, boldface letters, superscripts, and sub-scripts.
Italics should be shown by straight under-lining,

series (5" or 3.5"), WordStar for the NEC9801 series (5"
or 3.5"), and MS-Word for Macintosh (3.5").
(j) The author is requested to submit three complete sets
of the manuscript. If the manuscript is prepared with
one of the programs listed above, please add a floppy

The minimum number of reprints that can be ordered is
100. A reprint order form and price list will be sent
with the galley proof.

Genetic Systems is held by The Genetics Society of Japan.
Copyright Transfer Form will be sent with reprint order
from.
